MSP advises pharmacists to be proactive in their dealings with the
Scottish Parliament
Speaking at the annual general meeting of the Scottish Department of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society on 6 June, Scottish Nationalist MSP Roseanna Cunningham advised pharmacists to be proactive in their dealings with the Scottish Parliament.
Ms Cunningham, who chairs the parliamentary Health and Community Care
Committee, said that the profession should not confine its vigilance
to her committee but should carefully watch parliamentary activities
across all the committees to ensure that its voice was heard and that
legislation did not slip through unnoticed. MSPs could not be expected
to grasp all the potential implications of their actions without input
from those affected.
Ms Cunningham also said that attention to the troubled NHS 24 was urgently
needed, although she doubted whether it was “fixable”.
