Preregistration trainees assigned to band in AfC

Preregistration trainees at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust have been assimilated to band 5 of Agenda for Change. A job analysis questionnaire process was used to determine the band, since preregistration trainees are the one group within pharmacy for which a national profile has not yet been agreed. The basic pay of preregistration trainees under Whitley Council is £14,189 with band 5 under Agenda for Change starting at £18,698. However, transitional pay points will be used to increase the pay gradually, so the full rise will not be seen for a couple of years. The inner London weighting will increase from £2,851 to £3,739 over the same period.

The Guild of Healthcare Pharmacists has received an updated draft job profile for preregistration trainees from the Agenda for Change Job Evaluation Working Party.
