Working group to carry out urgent review of Society’s fee structure

The Council of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society has agreed to set up a working group to review the Society’s fee structure. It will report to the July meeting of the Resource Management Committee, so that the latter can make recommendations to the August Council meeting, at which the fee proposals for 2006 must be finalised.

Agreement has to be reached at the August Council meeting because of the timescale for meeting the approval of the Privy Council (for personal fees) and the Department of Health (for premises fees).

The Council made its decision at the June Council meeting after a long discussion initiated by Graham Phillips.

A detailed report of the debate appears here, setting out Council members’ concerns about both the current fee structure and the process that led to its adoption.
