Patient surveys not due yet

Pharmacy contractors should wait for further announcements before completing their patient satisfaction surveys, the Pharmaceutical Services Negotiating Committee says.

Performing the patient survey is a requirement under the essential services tier of the new contract and pharmacists will need to inform their primary care trusts of areas in which there is potential for improvement as well as areas in which they are performing strongly.

However, the PSNC says that they are still discussing the fine detail of the survey requirements with the Department of Health and that there is no obligation for pharmacists to complete the survey before the October PCT monitoring deadline.
