Society consults on new limit for Council attendance fee

The Royal Pharmaceutical Society’s Council is consulting on a proposed amendment to the Byelaws that will allow it to increase the daily fee paid to Council members for attending meetings of the Council and its committees.

The limit now set out in the Byelaws is £200 and the current fee actually paid is £160. The proposed amendment would raise the limit to £300, allowing the Council to increase the fee above £200 at some point, should it so wish.

The proposed amendment is set out in an Official Notice this week (p100). Interested parties have 60 days in which to make any comments. The Council will then be asked to confirm the proposal in the light of any comments and the proposal, accompanied by the comments, will be submitted to the Privy Council for its approval.
