Welsh Executive elects new officers

Peter Jones, the new chairman, and Nuala Brennan, the new vice-chairman

The Welsh Executive of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society has elected Peter Jones to succeeed Mair Davies as its chairman. Nuala Brennan succeeds Mr Jones as vice-chairman. The elections took place at a meeting of the executive on 7 July in Cardiff.

Mr Jones, of Bridgend, is a professional development consultant for South Wales for Boots The Chemists. He is a member of the Welsh Committee for Professional Development of Pharmacy and has also been a member of the Welsh Pharmaceutical Committee. Ms Brennan, of Newport Gwent, is a consultant in pharmaceutical public health for the National Public Health Service for Wales.

Mr Jones said: “I am absolutely delighted to have been elected as chairman of the Welsh Executive for the forthcoming year. This will be an exciting and challenging time ahead as the implementation of the Fraser review progresses and I look forward to taking this forward for Wales.”
