South west London drop-in pharmacy project wins health promotion award

A project providing drop-in pharmacy sessions in community centres and schools has been awarded the “Health promotion” award by the South West London Strategic Health Authority last week.

Pharmacists involved in the Merton Horizons community pharmacy project provide advice on alcohol, diet, exercise, smoking cessation and medicines use as well as measuring blood pressure, blood glucose, cholesterol and body mass index and screening for diabetes and cardiac risk.
