Beta-blockers for PTSD?

Beta-blockers interfere with the way the brain stores memories and could be used to treat sufferers of post-traumatic stress disorder, according to a report in Nature this week.

Researchers are recruiting subjects for a trial to test whether propranolol can help break the link between recalling a traumatic memory and panic symptoms (2005;436:448).
