Hyoscine hydrobromide
Hyoscine hydrobromide solution for injection is now available from Wockhardt. Net price, 400µg/ml x 10 ampoules £26.52, 600µg/ml x 10 ampoules £27.92. Legal category: POM.

SPC changes

Syntocinon
The summary of product characteristics for Syntocinon (oxytocin; Alliance) ampoules 5IU/ml has been updated. It now states that oxytocin should not be started for six hours following administration of vaginal prostaglandins in induction and enhancement of labour. The interactions section has also been updated. In addition, haemorrhage has been added as an occasional undesirable effect. See SPC.

Discontinued products

HeliMet
HeliMet triple pack (14 x lansoprazole capsules 30mg, 14 x clarithromycin tablets 500mg, 14 x metronidazole tablets 400mg; Wyeth) is being discontinued.

Plesmet syrup
Plesmet (ferrous glycine sulphate; Link) syrup 100ml is being discontinued. The 1 litre presentation will remain available. Sytron (sodium feredetate) 500ml will remain available and the company suggest it may provide a suitable alternative for patients.

Tazocin
Tazocin (piperacillin 4g and tazobactam 500mg; Wyeth) Combination Pack 4.5g is being discontinued.

Zoton
Zoton (lansoprazole; Wyeth) capsules 30mg x 7 are being discontinued.
