Chairmen appointed for new medicines committees

Gordon Duff, current chairman of the Committee on Safety of Medicines, will be appointed chairman of the Commission on Human Medicines and Philip Routledge, member of the Medicines Commission, will be appointed chairman of the Herbal Medicines Advisory Committee, it was announced last week.

On 30 October, the Commission on Human Medicines will replace the CSM and the Medicines Commission (PJ, 9 April, p414). The Herbal Medicines Advisory Committee has been set up to advise ministers on a new European registration scheme and on unlicensed herbal remedies.
