Society plans to introduce concessionary retention fees

Reduced retention fees for long-serving retired pharmacists and for most overseas pharmacists are included in the Royal Pharmaceutical Society’s proposed fee structure for 2006 (see p199).

The Council wants to increase most fees in line with inflation but, taking members’ concerns into account, it has agreed that non-practising pharmacists who have been on the Register for at least 50 years should pay only £20 and pharmacists practising overseas who have to be registered with an equivalent regulatory authority should pay only £106.

The proposals are subject to Privy Council approval after a period of consultation.
