Society summary

Fitness-to-practise findings are likely to be annotated on Register

Findings of unfitness to practise and some matters relating to continuing professional development are likely to be annotated on the Royal Pharmaceutical Society’s Register in the future.

The Society’s Council reached a provisional consensus to that effect at the August Council meeting, when it considered policy proposals on which to base Society Rules for implementing the requirements of the impending pharmacy Order under Section 60 of the the Health Act 1999.

The Council reached its consensus after an informal session on policy in relation to the Rules. It was agreed that Council members should submit comments to the office to inform the drafting of core Rules for the consideration at the October meeting.
