Society co-operates with Independent on a fourth pharmacy supplement

For a fourth time in two years the Royal Pharmaceutical Society has co-operated with The Independent to publish a supplement promoting careers in pharmacy. The supplement is to be circulated with the newspaper on 22 September. Copies will also be distributed at the British Pharmaceutical Conference in Manchester from 26 to 29 September and with The Pharmaceutical Journal of 1 October.

The supplement will include reports on the new community pharmacy contract for England and Wales, supplementary prescribing and the development of the British National Formulary for Children. A contribution from the Society’s President, Hemant Patel, will focus on career opportunities in pharmacy.

The President says: “Our association with The Independent is on three levels. Firstly it gives pharmacy a national platform where current and emerging issues can be given in-depth editorial coverage. Secondly the timing, to coincide with BPC 2005, is important to augment the conference brand. And thirdly the supplement assists the Society’s careers work highlighting as it does the opportunities that exist across many sectors of the profession.”
