Pharmacists need confidence to use skills and knowledgePharmacists need the confidence to use their knowledge and skills to improve public health, Ian Gibson, MP for Norwich North, told delegates at the Labour Party conference in Brighton this week. “Community pharmacy has an immense role to play and the real problem is giving community pharmacists the confidence to use their knowledge and skills. The new contract will help to achieve this,” Mr Gibson said. Local pharmacists Sarah Laker, East Sussex Local Pharmaceutical Committee member, Martin Mandelbaum, West Sussex and West Surrey LPC secretary, Dominic Osman-Allu, Brighton and Hove City Teaching Primary Care Trust’s professional executive committee member, and Chris Street of Alliance pharmacy attended the conference. Mr Osman-Allu spoke at a fringe meeting about pharmacists’ important role in patient safety. |
