NPA offers hospital pharmacists indemnity for new roles

Pharmacists who work in hospitals providing an expanded range of clinical services are being offered professional indemnity cover by the National Pharmacy Association.

Launching the policy at BPC, Raina Jordan, NPA business development manager, said: “Hospital pharmacists are increasingly involved with the clinical team, anticipating medication errors, signing off and working under patient group directions. In light of their expanding role, some feel it prudent to carry their own insurance.”

Preregistration cover The NPA also announced that it is offering pharmacy students and preregistration trainees free indemnity cover.
