Reckitt Benckiser buys BHI

Reckitt Benckiser has won the auction for Boots Healthcare International with a cash bid of £1.926bn. This is almost double what BHI was expected to be sold for and 22 times the company's annual operating profits.

Meanwhile, Phoenix Group has completed the acquisition of the Numark Group. David Cole, Phoenix chief executive, said that the greater resources would be used to develop Numark. “Numark can now refocus exclusively on the needs and challenges that face the independent pharmacy sector,” he said.
