Scottish mental health ActNew legislation means that people with mental health problems and their carers should be able to expect improved rights and greater protection, according to the Scottish Executive. This is a result of the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) Scotland Act 2003 which came into force on 5 October. It covers issues such as compulsory treatment orders and the setting up of a new Mental Health Tribunal. |
