Angiotensin receptor blockers

Researchers report that candesartan is associated with a reduced risk of nonfatal myocardial infarction in patients with heart failure (JAMA 2005;294:1794). However, a broader systematic review of 19 studies (that includes data from the JAMA trial) has revealed a neutral association, with neither an increased nor decreased risk for angiotensin receptor blocker use (BMJ 2005;331:873).
