CHD rates fall in Scotland

Rates of coronary heart disease and stroke are continuing to fall in Scotland, according to statistics released by the NHS this week. Deaths from CHD fell by 7.3 per cent between 2003 and 2004, and deaths from stroke by 6.2 per cent in the same period. The number of prescriptions for cardiovascular disease as a whole has more than doubled in the past decade.
