Appointments to the CHM announced

Two pharmacists — Tony Nunn and Roger Walker — have been appointed to the Commission on Human Medicines, which superseded the Committee on Safety of Medicines and the Medicines Commission on 1 November.

Mr Nunn is clinical director of pharmacy at the Royal Liverpool Children’s NHS Trust. He has contributed to improving the availability of appropriate, authorised medicines for children through more than 10 years of research, committee work and contributions to publications including ‘Medicines for children’ and the British National Formulary for Children. Professor Walker is consultant in pharmaceutical public health in the National Public Health Service for Wales and professor of pharmacy practice at the Welsh School of Pharmacy. His career has focused on appropriate and inappropriate prescribing, the safe use of medicines and public health.
