Welsh Executive goes for a bigger newsletter

PharmaCymru, the newsletter of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society's Welsh Executive, has been expanded to six pages for its autumn 2005 issue.

In addition to the regular sections, the latest issue includes a new section entitled “Information for pharmacists”. The first article in this section is written by Paul Gimson, project manager for the implementation of the pharmacy contract at the Welsh Assembly Government. It looks at medicines use review and prescription intervention — an advanced service under the new NHS contract for pharmacists in Wales.

Cath O’Brien, the Society’s director for Wales, said: “We are constantly looking at ways of developing our newsletter to ensure that it is a really effective communication tool.

“After recently establishing a focus on branches and pharmacy development groups, it is encouraging to see that we are now receiving regular contributions for inclusion from across the principality.

“Incorporating a useful and relevant information section to highlight current developments is another means of ensuring we provide up-to-date information to all sectors of the profession.”

PharmaCymru is being sent to pharmacists with registered addresses in Wales. It can also be downloaded from the Welsh Executive section of the Society’s website.
