SPC changes

Ebixa
Ebixa (memantine; Lundbeck) is now indicated for the treatment of moderate to severe (as opposed to moderately severe to severe) Alzheimer’s disease. See SPC.

Vfend
The summary of product characteristics for Vfend (voriconazole; Pfizer) has been amended to reflect changes in dosing for children. It now states that no oral or intravenous loading dose is required. In addition, the intravenous maintenance dose for children 2–11 years old is 7mg/kg twice daily. If this dose is not tolerated it can be reduced to 4mg/kg twice daily. The tablets and suspension should be given at a maintenance dose of 200mg twice daily in children 2–11 years old. Since the absorption of tablets has not been studied in paediatric patients the SPC recommends that oral suspension is given to children. Hepatic function should be monitored in both adults and children. See SPC.
