Pharmacy2U taken to task over marketing

The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency has upheld two complaints made about the marketing of services provided by online pharmacy business Pharmacy2U.

The complaints related to a poster displayed in men’s toilets in service stations and a website page giving price comparisons of erectile dysfunction treatments as part of a dispensing service and information on a consultation service provided by Pharmacy2U.

The MHRA agreed with the complainants that the information provided by Pharmacy2U would encourage members of the public to seek prescription only medicines. Pharmacy 2U has ceased publication of the poster advertisement and has agreed to amend its website.
