Superdrug plans Irish moveSuperdrug has confirmed that it is examining sites in the Irish Republic and plans to open its first stores there later this year. In recent years there has been a consolidation of the Irish sector, with 40 per cent of pharmacies now in chains of two or more shops, and the trend is continuing. UK expansion Superdrug is to open at least 35 stores in the UK this year, the company announced earlier this month. The expansion programme will cost £14.6m, create 350 jobs and double the number of stores the company has in central London. Superdrug currently has 705 stores in the UK. |
