Continuing professional development (CPD)

A golden opportunity to make money

From Mr J. L. Potter, MRPharmS

Since curricula vitae have become the norm, a new profession has arisen — the CV writer. In return for the required information and a fee, these people can produce a CV far more impressive to a subsequent employer than any amateurish effort by the client himself.

With mandatory continuing professional development less than 10 months away, I wonder if there is now room for a similar profession — the CPD writer. Could not a few enterprising young pharmacists set themselves up to complete CPD reports for other pharmacists?

I am sure those who would rather spend their leisure time watching television or playing golf rather than writing CPD reports would welcome such a service.

Also, a professionally written CPD report would be far more understandable to the Royal Pharmaceutical Society’s inspector than the amateur efforts of the practising pharmacist himself.

How about it, you young entrepreneurs? Here is a golden opportunity for you.
