British National Formulary gets facelift
The British National Formulary, published this week, has undergone a redesign. Layout and print colour changes of this latest issue are
designed to make it easier to locate information and give the front
cover a more contemporary feel.
The updated edition, BNF 51, reflects latest clinical advice and significant
changes include:
· Updated charts for cardiopulmonary resuscitation
· Changes to advice on drug interactions with hormonal contraception
· The latest recommendations for the treatment of falciparum malaria
· Advice on the risk of suicidal thoughts and behaviour for the parents
and carers of children taking atomoxetine for attention deficit hyperactivity
disorder
Despite the redesign, the overall arrangement of information remains
the same. “The BNF has received another facelift, but still provides
all the information health professionals need to make the best prescribing
decisions for their patients,” said Martin Kendall, chairman of
the BNF Joint Formulary Committee. Further changes are planned over the
next few editions. |
