New certificate allows branches to recognise long-serving pharmacists

Long-serving members of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society can now receive recognition from their local branch of the Society in the form of a certificate. The certificate can be awarded to mark the achievement of 50, 60 or 70 years of registration as a pharmacist.

Branch committees interested in presenting the new certificate should contact the Society’s membership team (tel 020 7572 2331; e-mail b&ra@rpsgb.org).

The certificate has been introduced in response to a resolution of the 2005 branch representatives’ meeting that “branch committees should be able to recognise local veteran members of the Society in a manner which is suitably dignified and in keeping with the honour and status of the Society”. The resolution was made on the motion of the Leicestershire and Rutland branch.

The Society will continue to issue letters of congratulation signed by the President of the day to mark the achievement of 50, 60 and 70 years on the Register.
