Global action to address pharmacy shortages needed

Global action is needed to address international shortages in the pharmacy workforce, the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) urged last week.

In its report “Global pharmacy workforce and migration report — a call for action” FIP says that gaps in knowledge about pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and support staff need to be filled. “There is a need for global concerted action to evaluate, regulate, document and develop the pharmacy workforce,” FIP argues. The report is available from the FIP website (www.fip.org).
