Oestrogen use and breast cancer

Postmenopausal women who use long-term unopposed oestrogen therapy are at increased risk of breast cancer, an analysis of data from the US Nurses' Health Study shows. The analysis did not indicate an increased risk for current use of unopposed oestrogen for less than 10 years (Archives of Internal Medicine 2006;166:1027).
