MedicinesComplete information subscription service expands

The Pharmaceutical Press has announced the addition of American Hospital Formulary (AHFS) to MedicinesComplete. MedicinesComplete brings together some of the world's leading drug and health care references on one integrated platform.

AHFS Drug Information (AHFS DI) is one of the most comprehensive sources of unbiased and authoritative drug information available to health professionals. It features reliable, evidence-based data on more than 50,000 drug products. A wholly independent staff of drug information pharmacists and other professional editorial and analytical staff thoroughly research AHFS content. The monographs include tens of thousands of references, including clinical research findings, therapeutic guidelines, and Food and Drug Administration approved labelling. The US Congress and various health care insurance providers have recognised the authority of AHFS DI as a source of information on the medically accepted uses of drugs. AHFS DI went live on MedicinesComplete on 8 May.

Charles Fry, managing director of RPS Publishing, said: “RPS Publishing is delighted to be working with the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists to include AHFS DI within MedicinesComplete. AHFS DI is an ideal companion publication to major reference works such as Martindale and Stockley’s Drug Interactions and adds to the international appeal of our online subscription service. We welcome the opportunity to offer AHFS to a wider audience via MedicinesComplete.”

Carol Wolfe, vice-president of ASHP’s publications and drug information system office, said: “We are very pleased by this new collaboration between ASHP and RPSP to extend access to AHFS Drug Information to clinicians and researchers throughout the world. The MedicinesComplete collection, now complemented by AHFS Drug Information, provides excellent resources to all who are engaged in advancing evidence-based drug therapy.”

Subscribers to MedicinesComplete can “pick and mix” from a list of publications with one or more titles available with annual licences for individuals, groups or organisations. Further information is available by telephoning 020 7572 2464 or visiting www.medicinescomplete.com
