Pharmacists’ views captured in Society’s 2005 Annual Review
The opinions of a diverse range of pharmacists on the role of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society have been captured in the organisation's 2005 Annual Review. The review has been distributed to members and is also available to download from the Society's website (PDF 2.8MB)
The publication includes the views of a range of people within the profession,
including community pharmacists, hospital pharmacists (including a consultant
pharmacist), a veterinary pharmacist, a senior pharmacist within a large
pharmaceutical company, an academic pharmacist, a pharmacy technician
and a pharmacist working within a primary care organisation. A pharmacy
technician is also featured.
Each one was asked for their views on the role of the Society, whether
they believed the Society was important to their working lives and whether
or not they believed they benefited from membership.
Commenting on the 2005 Review the Society’s President, Hemant Patel,
said: “This year’s review is very member-focused and the
views expressed by such a wide range of pharmacists about the Society
were very encouraging. For me, personally, 2005 has been about the progress
the pharmacy profession has made towards meeting its own aspirations
while serving patients and the public. This year’s review not only
highlights the work the Society has undertaken to realise and move forward
with its vision for the future of pharmacy, but also the people in a
wide range of practice areas who are making this vision a reality.”
Along with the Society’s financial statements for 2005, the Annual
Review will be presented at the Society’s AGM on Wednesday 24 May,
which takes place at the Westminster Suite, Queen Elizabeth II Conference
Centre, Broad Sanctuary, London SW1, at 7.30pm (see Official
Notice on
p609).
The Society’s full financial statements for 2005 are available
on the Society’s website (PDF 1.5MB).
