Winners of Charter medals announced

In 1963 the Council of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society instituted two awards, which are known respectively as the “Charter gold medal” and the “Charter silver medal”. The “Charter gold medal” recognises outstanding services rendered by a member to the Society, or generally, in promoting the interests of pharmacy. The “Charter silver medal” recognises similar outstanding services rendered by a member locally or to a specific sector of the profession. Both awards are made by the Council on the recommendation of the President.

The “2006 Charter gold medal” is awarded to Diana Kay Roberts of Glasgow and the “2006 Charter silver medal” is awarded to Allen McCaskill Tweedie of Newcastle upon Tyne.

The medals will be presented at 6.15pm on Wednesday 24 May, just before the Society’s annual general meeting, at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre, London SW1P 3EE.
