Final preparations for minor ailment service in Scotland

NHS boards in Scotland have been authorised to supply stocks of CP2 prescription forms to community pharmacists for the minor ailment service (MAS). Patients will be able to register for the service on 1 June, although consultations are not allowed until 1 July.

A limited number of CP1 prescription forms and A4 registration forms will be distributed for emergency back-up if the eMAS system fails.

National publicity materials for the MAS will be distributed by the Scottish Executive in early June and pharmacists must not use other materials, or advertise or offer incentives to the public to register for the service.
