Chlamydia screening valueBenefits of chlamydia screening programmes might have been overestimated, say researchers who analysed data from 43,715 women in Uppsala, Sweden (Sexually Transmitted Infections 2006;82:212). They found a lower-than-expected incidence of chlamydia-associated complications by the age of 35 years (up to 4 per cent overall and up to 7 per cent in those with a previous chlamydia infection). |
