AGM adopts change to Code
The Society's annual
general meeting has adopted the only change made to the Code of Ethics and Standards since the 2005 AGM.
The change was the addition of a new service specification for pharmacist
prescribers, which was approved by the Council at its meeting in August
2005 (PJ, 13 August 2005, p201). Its introduction recognises the growth
of supplementary prescribing by pharmacists, the proposals for independent
prescribing and the repercussions of the Shipman Inquiry.
The President, Hemant Patel, said that the Council had decided that each
year at the AGM it would we will report changes to the Code of Ethics
made in the previous year. He moved the adoption of the change, which
was agreed.
