Statutory Committee

I applaud its decision

From Mr A. Sidhu, MRPharmS

I applaud the Statutory Committee on its decision not to take any action against Mustafa Hakimuddin Bhaiji (PJ, 27 May, p640). This has reinforced my faith in the Royal Pharmaceutical Society as a body which can recognise that any pharmacist who is acting in the best interests of the patient can be assured that if he or she has made a carefully thought-out decision then he or she can practise without fear of persecution. Mr Bhaiji showed immense personal character to do what he did. Many a time in my community pharmacy days I faced similar situations. I strongly admire the pharmacist in this case and am proud to be a part of the same profession. We can all learn from this experience.
