Standards for support workers

National standards for health care support workers have been drafted in Scotland. A consultation on the standards, which include a code of conduct and practice for employees and employers, was published by the Scottish Executive last week. Health care support workers are defined as anyone who has direct contact with patients who is not (or is not due to be) statutorily regulated.
