Officers re-elected

The Council of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society has re-elected the Society's President (Hemant Patel), Vice-President (Gerald Alexander) and Treasurer (John Jolley) to serve for a further year.

The Society’s Officers for 2006–07

John Jolley, Treasurer

Each election was contested. In the election of the President, Mr Patel beat David Thomson by 21 votes to eight, In the election of the Vice-President, Mr Alexander gained 21 votes against Colin Ranshaw’s eight. And in the election of the Treasurer, Mr Jolley received 18 votes and Mr Ranshaw 11.

In the election of a professional member to work with the Officers while there is no one on the Council to fulfil the immediate past president’s role, Martin Astbury was successful, beating Mr Ranshaw by 19 votes to 10.

In the election of a lay member to work with the Officers, Bob Michell was re-elected, beating Alan Kershaw by 19 votes to 10.
