New MEP delayed by need to include new CD Regulations

Publication of the 30th edition of ‘Medicines, ethics and practice: a guide for pharmacists” is being delayed by a month to allow the inclusion of information about amendments to the Misuse of Drugs Regulations that are expected to come into force in early July.

Lynsey Balmer, the Society’s Head of Professional Ethics, said: “This slight delay will enable the Society’s staff to revise the information relating to Controlled Drugs. It is essential that the guide reflects the most recent changes to misuse of drugs legislation.”

The 2006 edition of the guide will now be distributed in late July. It will go to all pharmacists, registered pharmacy technicians and preregistration trainees and to all UK schools of pharmacy.
