BRM rejects management training in degree course

A motion calling for the pharmacy degree course to include management training was rejected by the branch representatives' meeting.

Alastair Williamson (British Pharmaceutical Students Association) moved: “That there should be some form of management training incorporated into the MPharm.” He said that the motion did not refer just to business management skills relevant to the community sector but also to skills in self-management, time management, leadership, teamwork management, etc, that were applicable in other sectors.

Opposing the motion, James Johnson (Glasgow and West of Scotland) expressed sympathy but said that the curriculum is already crowded and it would be impossible to find space for such a diverse combination of subjects.
