BRM seeks scheme for continued involvement of non-practising members

The Society's Council should review the arrangements made by other learned and professional bodies for the continued involvement of their non-practising and retired members and establish a fair, just and equitable scheme for such pharmacists, the branch representatives' meeting decided.

Proposing a motion to that effect, Michael Burden (Leicestershire and Rutland) noted that the Council had already put on record its wish to acknowledge the contribution made by non-practising and retired members. The motion was not specifically seeking a change in the fee structure but merely asking the Council to look at the various arrangements made within other bodies. It was continued involvement that the branch was most concerned about and he hoped that, based on a review, the Council would be able to come forward with an appropriate scheme for pharmacists.
