The Society

A learning organisation

From Mr T. H. Jones, MRPharmS

I am sure the relevant standard operating procedures were read, signed and understood by the relevant staff, but human error led to the need to invalidate the ballot papers initially issued in the Royal Pharmaceutical Society’s Council election (PJ, 10 June, p690). Now systems have been reviewed; it is a tricky, complex business organising elections that vary from year to year. Indeed the President thanked the staff for pulling out all the stops to make sure the election process continued. Thankfully though, the Society is a learning organisation that learns from mistakes. Because learning organisations are devoid of any responsibility for their errors, I would like to register my pharmacy with the Society as a learning organisation.
