NPA elects new board members to represent members in Scotland
Noel Wicks and John Currie have been elected to the National Pharmacy Association board of management in order to represent NPA members in Scotland.
Mr Wicks is managing director of ACMS Ltd, which has four community pharmacies
in Scotland, and Mr Currie owns two pharmacies in Dumfries and Galloway.
Umesh Patel, NPA chairman, said: “Both Noel and John have a real
understanding of the practice, clinical, business and commercial aspects
of community pharmacy in Scotland, and we are pleased to welcome them
to the NPA board of management. It is vital that Scottish members’ views
are heard, and their appointment will ensure that NPA Scotland receives
equivalent representation as the other countries within the UK.”
Mr Wicks commented: “This is a pivotal period for Scottish pharmacists — and
with the new pharmacy contract rolling out, we face significant challenges
but the NPA is a superb resource and well-placed to fulfil this crucial
role.”
Mr Currie added: “During my term of office, I will do all I can
to serve the Scottish membership — by voicing their concerns and
needs and making sure these are reflected in the development of NPA resources
and
services.” |
