Scottish NHS drugs inquiry

Prescribing and licensing of drugs in NHS Scotland was the topic of an inquiry by the Scottish Parliament’s health committee last week. It agreed to seek more information on the cost of work performed by NHS Quality Improvement Scotland and the Scottish Medicines Consortium compared with that of England’s National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence. Evidence was heard from a variety of pharmaceutical bodies.
