Society summary

King On 29 June 2005, Peter King, FRPharmS, aged 75, of 8 Butt Lane, Snaith, Goole, North Humberside DN14 9DP. Mr King registered in 1950 (Tribute).

Medd On 22 May, Kenneth Lionel Medd, MRPharmS, aged 89, of 9 Elstree Avenue, Menora, Perth 6050, Australia. Mr Medd registered in 1973.

Southwood On 16 June, Michael John Southwood, MRPharmS, aged 70, of 3 Castle Mews, Chapel Street, Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire HP4 2HE. Mr Southwood registered in 1957.

Woffinden On 3 June, Douglas Woffinden, MRPharmS, aged 80, of 5 Brompton Road, Sprotborough, Doncaster, South Yorkshire DN5 7LB. Mr Woffinden registered in 1955.

Wright On 9 June, Gwendoline Margaret Wright, née Bomber, aged 78, of Middleton, Nova Scotia, Canada. Mrs Wright registered in 1949 and retired from the Register in 1998. She worked in several Birmingham hospitals and in her father’s pharmacy in West Bromwich before moving to Canada in 1977.

Tribute

King In a tribute to the late Peter King (see above), JANET BENNETT writes:

Peter King served an apprenticeship in York, studied in Bradford and graduated in London. He worked for 13 years for Bleasdales before entering community pharmacy, where he worked until his retirement in 2004.

He will be remembered by his staff and work colleagues as a truly caring, professional gentleman.

Our thoughts are with his wife Edyea, his daughters Helen and Deirdre and his grandchildren.
