Co-operative Group Pharmacy announced this week that the company has acquired another 40 pharmacies, making it the UK’s fourth largest pharmacy chain.

The group, which now has 429 branches, has bought 30 pharmacies, mostly in Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire, from Gordon Davis (Chemists) Ltd, and 10 branches in the north east from Raygale Chemists Ltd.

Neil Braithwaite, Co-operative Group Pharmacy’s general manager, said: “We continue to have ambitious plans for expansion and development, and we expect to have even more Co-op Pharmacies in future.”
