Welsh Executive focuses on communication
The Welsh Executive of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society has produced two publications this summer communicating with Society members in Wales and with Welsh Assembly Government members and members of Parliament.
The summer edition of PharmaCymru, the newsletter for members in Wales,
is being distributed this week. It focuses on “Chronic conditions
management: a Welsh approach”. It also includes details of the
Controlled Drugs regulation
changes (PJ, 1 July, p25) and information
on the Society’s updated
guidance on child protection (PJ, 17 June,
p731).
The sixth issue of Pharmac-e, the electronic news bulletin aimed at assembly
members, MPs and their researchers is issued this month. It highlights the Society’s
development of a vision
for pharmacy in the year 2020 (PJ, 4 March, p277). It
also gives information on the Society’s consultation on a strategy for
public and patient
involvement (PJ, 1 July, p30).
Peter Jones, chairman of the Welsh Executive said: “One of our key aims
is to ensure that the voice of pharmacy is heard in Wales. Our e-news bulletin
gets the information where it is needed and in the right format. Feedback to
date suggests that it is being used effectively. However, our communication with
pharmacists in Wales is essential. … Ensuring that we continue to fully engage
with the whole profession will be an essential component of our work going forward
in establishing the new national board for Wales.”
