Health Bill becomes Act

The Health Bill received Royal Assent on 19 July and so becomes the Health Act 2006. Matters covered by the Act of relevance to pharmacists in England and in Wales include management of Controlled Drugs, changes to the definitions of personal control and supervision, the introduction of smoke-free premises, a code of practice on health care associated infections (see p126) and the recovery of NHS costs.
