Welsh prescription charge

From 1 August, the Welsh prescription charge of £3 will only apply automatically to prescriptions on Welsh forms dispensed in pharmacies in Wales. Patients registered with a GP in England will, therefore, need an entitlement card to pay the Welsh prescription charge in Welsh pharmacies, Community Pharmacy Wales reminded contractors this week. The entitlement cards also enable patients who live in Wales and who are under 25 years of age, but who are registered with a GP in England, to have prescriptions dispensed in Wales free of charge.
