Staff training in Scotland

Pharmacy contractors in Scotland will be able to claim £750 towards the cost of training pharmacy staff during this financial year.

The new pharmacy contract agreement promised a total of £850,000 for staff training. This week, the details of how that sum will be distributed were published in an NHS circular.

The training courses eligible for funding include National/Scottish Vocational Qualifications to level 2 and 3, and accredited checking technician courses such as the National Pharmacy Association’s accuracy in dispensing training module. Claims for funding should be made to NHS Education for Scotland Pharmacy by 31 January 2007.
